Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting and FinOps Technician to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day financial operations, focusing on accounts communications, documentation, payable, receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Read, understand, and respond to all emails with complete accuracy.
• Escalate any unclear or uncertain situations to stakeholders and managers.
• Effectively communicate with clients and internal teams through clear and concise written responses.
• Process and manage client-specific documentation inline with established policies.
• Create, maintain, and execute automations to streamline processes.
• Understand and manage client-ledger transactions accurately.
• Identify discrepancies, errors, or omissions, and request necessary documentation promptly.
• Assign and reconcile general ledger accounts consistently and correctly.
• Apply GST principles critically and consistently.
• Manage and clear AP and AR ledgers efficiently.
• Review and resolve AP and AR discrepancies regularly.
• Identify POS and FOREX transactions and resolve them promptly.
• Communicate and address ongoing supplier/customer issues effectively.

• Process payrolls using Employment Hero Payroll, including timesheet-based payrolls, award interpretation, termination payments, complex automations, bonus and commission payments, superannuation, salary sacrifice, and expense reimbursements.
• Manage Employment Hero Payroll and Xero integrations seamlessly.
• Support clients and employees with payroll-related queries and concerns.

• Reconcile ledger transactions, bank statement records, payroll, and control accounts accurately.
• Produce and maintain complete and accurate balance sheets.
• Investigate and troubleshoot unreconciled accounts thoroughly.

• Check and process purchase orders efficiently.
• Operate and manage inventory platforms effectively.
• Complete forms and template-based documents accurately.
• Create and manage invoices for clients.
• Input data into various sources accurately and timely.
• Meet and discuss transactions with clients regularly.
• Request and update necessary documentation from clients promptly.
• Understand and manage each client environment efficiently.
• Know and understand what each client does and how they work.
• Identify opportunities, errors, or omissions, and discuss them promptly with your manager.
• Support your manager with proactive information and timely outcomes.
• Understand the requirements of each task and manage estimated times effectively.
• Reach out for support and input regularly, especially when working overtime.
• Work in a deadline-oriented environment with multiple, competing priorities.
• Be proficient with Employment Hero Payroll and Xero.
• Understand what you're doing and why, as well as how it affects the client experience and impacts their environment.
• Understand instructions, systems, environments, and outcomes quickly.
• Operate in complex multi-platform digital environments and execute complex tasks with multiple decision trees.
• Change gears, stop, start, and switch tasks to respond to changing priorities while working quickly and methodically.
• Feedback and ask questions when unsure or feel there are omissions or opportunities to improve.
