Special Education Teacher Position Overview

  • Instruct and monitor student progress in synchronous and asynchronous settings according to need.
  • Orient students to their course, communicate requirements, and track progress and pacing.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of assigned courses.
  • Understand diverse backgrounds and needs of PA Cyber students and families.
  • Facilitate live class sessions in Virtual Classroom and Blended Classroom environments.
  • Help facilitate live sessions as a Virtual Classroom Teacher and Blended Classroom Teacher.
  • Establish clear objectives for learning activities.
  • Create lesson plans and align instructional material to state standards, assessment anchors, and eligible content.
  • Participate in initiatives related to student achievement and state/local testing.
  • Provide tutoring services through regular sessions and open office hours.

Requirements include a valid Pennsylvania State Teaching Certificate in Special Education, job-related experience preferred, and child abuse clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance.
