OT Platform Engineer Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced OT platform engineer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work on the development and implementation of secure, scalable, and reliable open-source technologies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Cluster Administration: Implement and maintain OpenShift clusters in on-prem production environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Secure Deployment: Design and implement secure tunneling solutions for deployment instructions between network levels, guaranteeing the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data.
  • Air Gap Transfer Strategies: Establish robust air gap transfer strategies for code and artifacts, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.
  • GitOps Deployments: Implement Humanitec with ArgoCD for GitOps-style deployments with appropriate on-prem networking constraints, enabling efficient and automated software delivery.
  • Environment Setup: Create staging environments that accurately mirror production on-prem systems in AWS, facilitating thorough testing and validation.
  • Cybersecurity Collaboration: Work closely with cybersecurity teams to implement defense-in-depth strategies, ensuring the overall security posture of the organization.
  • Change Management: Establish robust change management processes for on-prem deployments, minimizing downtime and maximizing system availability.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design backup and disaster recovery strategies appropriate for each Purdue Model level, guaranteeing business continuity in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Required Qualifications:
  • Network Architecture Expertise: Strong background in air-gapped and segmented network architectures, including experience with secure artifact management and understanding of on-prem limitations.
  • Deployment Process Knowledge: Experience with manual deployment processes and change control, as well as familiarity with vSphere and on-premises virtualization.
  • Security Understanding: Understanding of industrial protocols (OPC, Modbus, etc.), knowledge of redundant system design for high availability, and awareness of industrial cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443).
  • Container Platform Skills: Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift (on-prem) and EKS (AWS), as well as knowledge of infrastructure, source control, and monitoring tools.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Purdue Model Familiarity: Understanding of the Purdue Model and ISA-95 standards, as well as experience with mining or heavy industry operational environments.
  • SCADA Environment Knowledge: Experience with industrial control systems and SCADA environments, including knowledge of industrial-grade observability tools.
  • Redundant System Design: Knowledge of redundant system design for high availability, ensuring maximum uptime and minimum downtime.
  • Industrial Protocols: Understanding of industrial protocols (OPC, Modbus, etc.), facilitating communication between different systems and devices.
