Job Title: IT System Architect

Description:

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of system administration and be proficient in managing IT infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity and access to various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage firewall, security, and VPN settings for both home and office environments.
  • Collaborate with teams to facilitate connectivity, access, and permissions to various applications.
  • Work with the IT director on projects, including new suggestions, design, and reports via Jira and email.
  • Resolve issues with DevOps and support teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an IT staff member.
  • Experience in third-party handling (suppliers, vendors, carriers).
  • Fluent English language skills; direct experience working with US or EU customers.
  • SysAdmin proficiency in main Linux OS flavors: Red Hat/CentOS 6, 7, 8, Ubuntu.
  • Microsoft Windows proficiency: administration level; knowledge of latest Windows OS releases (Windows 7/8/10) and Windows Server 2008/2012; Remote Desktop.
  • Scripting skills: Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Networking know-how: Fortigate firewall setup; basic WiFi knowledge; Static routing, DHCP.
  • IT automation using technologies like Ansible.

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience with development groups as an IT team leader is desirable, along with infrastructure maintenance: LAMP, monitoring tools. Familiarity with bug tracking systems: Jira or Bugzilla; server configuration tools: OMSA, PSP is also beneficial. Knowledge of monitoring skills: Nagios, Centreon, Zabbix; configuration management: puppet/chef/salt will be considered. Additionally, RHCE certification and networking: advanced troubleshooting, WiFi; fiber connectivity (single-mode/multimode); L3 routing (BGP), UDP unicast/multicast is highly valued.
