Job Title: Central Ordering Sr Manager

About the Role

The Central Ordering Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely procurement of materials and services required for various projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure that all ordering activities are executed effectively and align with the company's strategic objectives.

A key aspect of this position is fostering a strong customer service ethos within the central ordering team. The Central Ordering Lead will not only demonstrate excellence in customer service personally but will also coach and mentor team members to consistently deliver a customer-focused experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ordering and Procurement Management: Lead the central ordering team in purchasing materials and services, ensuring accurate and timely orders adhere to project timelines.
  • Supplier Management: Track supplier performance and maintain strong relationships.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking and ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve ordering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with centre delivery managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure ordering activities support project goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on ordering activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the construction or fit-out industry.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing a team, demonstrating strong leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
  • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
