Job Summary

The Assistant Financial Controller is a critical role that involves managing all aspects of the monthly close process, including generating financial reports on a Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) basis, account analysis, bank reconciliations, and preparing budgets for each entity and consolidated basis.

  • Financial Reporting: Work closely with the company Controller to upload financial reports to the company's financial reporting package managed through Vena consolidation software each month with comparison to budget and prior periods.
  • Revenue Methods: Record Work-In-Progress (WIP) monthly based on reports for time card (hourly), upon completion of tasks, and lump sum projects.
  • Budget/Forecasting: Prepare budgets for each entity and consolidated basis, working closely with the CFO, controller, and Finance Process Analyst to ensure integration into the company systems and banking.
  • Manage entities recently acquired by the company, focusing on their monthly close, bank reconciliations, budgets, and internal controls as they integrate into the company systems and banking.
Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple entities and integrating them into the company systems and banking.
  • Preparing financial reports and statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for each entity and consolidated basis.
  • Working closely with the CFO, controller, and Finance Process Analyst to ensure integration into the company systems and banking.
Requirements

Requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • At least 5 years' experience in finance or accounting department at a mid-size to large entity with multiple entities.
  • Experience in Consolidation and GAAP accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Experience with integrated accounting systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce/Accounting Seed.
