Job Title: Payroll Manager

About the Position

We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weekly Payroll Processing
    • Review and validate timesheets for approximately 150 hourly technicians.
    • Process weekly payroll for ~50 salaried employees.
    • Manage payroll for ~20 salespeople, including reconciling commission payouts against draws and sales performance.
  • Employee Record Management & System Administration
    • Maintain and update employee records, including new hire onboarding and terminations.
    • Adjust pay rates and compensation details as needed.
    • Ensure PTO accruals are tracked and applied accurately.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
    • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate employee compensation records.
    • Prepare payroll-related reports and audits as required.
    Requirements
    • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1 year in a lead or managerial role.
    • Proficiency in Paychex or similar payroll software.
    • Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
    • Strong reconciliation skills, particularly with commission-based compensation.
    • High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience managing payroll across multiple entities or business units.
    • Background in industries with hourly field staff.
    • Familiarity with PTO policies and accrual methodologies.
