The Account Executive plays a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with key customers.
Assigned to three to five vertical markets, this individual is responsible for driving sales growth and achieving assigned objectives.
The Account Executive represents the company's full range of products and services to assigned markets, leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring market needs are met by the organization.
This role reports to the Regional Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Builds productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned markets.
- Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
- Coordinates the involvement of cross-functional teams, including support, service, and management resources, to meet performance objectives and customers' expectations.
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned markets.
- Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, coordinating the involvement of all necessary resources.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures:
- Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers in assigned territories/markets to generate new business opportunities.
- Makes targeted calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers.
- Researches sources for developing new business opportunities and determines customer potential.
- Develops clear and effective proposals/quotations for customers.
- Expedites the resolution of customer complaints and issues.
- Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service groups.
- Analyzes territory/market potential and determines customer value to the organization.
- Creates and manages customer value plans highlighting profile, share, and value opportunities.
- Identifies advantages and compares competitors' offerings.
- Plans and organizes personal sales strategy to maximize return on investment.
- Provides regular reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Remains up-to-date on product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends.
- Participates in industry events and conferences.
- Accurately forecasts weekly sales figures.
