Editorial Support Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented editorial support specialist to assist our team in creating impactful live journalism events, podcasts, and other digital content around critical global convenings.

  • This role involves collaborating with senior editors to shape how we show up to and cover key moments in global development, including special edition newsletters, podcasts, and live events.
  • The successful candidate will conduct research to explore issues that matter to our community, help develop ideas for interviews or panels, and identify innovators and thought leaders to feature in our events and podcasts.
  • They will also manage speaker correspondence, handle logistics, and provide strategic support to the senior editor and executive editor.
Responsibilities
  • Exhibit strong editorial judgment: Collaborate with senior editors to shape coverage of key moments in global development.
  • Conduct research: Explore issues that matter to our community, develop interview or panel ideas, and identify innovators and thought leaders.
  • Manage speaker correspondence: Handle communications with speakers, confirm speaking details, and schedule briefing calls.
  • Provide strategic support: Assist senior editors with external speaking and moderation opportunities, coordinate logistics, and develop presentations.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with social media, marketing, and production teams to ensure content flows smoothly from concept to execution.
Requirements
  • Strong editorial judgment and a keen sense for what matters to global development audiences.
  • Experience editing and curating content that resonates with audiences.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in journalism, editorial content creation, or event management.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple priorities and manage projects effectively.
  • Proficiency with content management systems and tools is a plus.
