JOB SUMMARY:

The Editorial Assistant supports all the publishing processes of textbooks and other instructional products, programs, and services toward innovative teaching and effective learning for global competitiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist authors, series coordinators, outsource persons (editors, evaluators, artists, designers, illustrators, among other specialists), including other external and internal customers, in accomplishing the production timetable

2. Monitor files, documents, manuscripts, and other pertinent materials to ensure smooth editorial and production workflow

3. Assist in executing departmental and cross-functional processes to expedite production deliverables

4. Do physical checking, copy reading, and proofreading of manuscripts

5. Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or Managing Editor

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be a team player, adaptable, and flexible to the demands of time

2. Graduate of any four-year course, preferably BS Elementary or Secondary Education in Filipino or Social Studies

3. Subject/Learning area specialization is an advantage (Filipino major)

4. Preferably with teaching experience or with a background in publishing processes

5. Prior experience in project management and supervision is a plus

6. With excellent written and oral communication skills, goal-oriented, keen on details, and can work with minimum supervision
