Job Title:

Procurement Specialist

Job Description

This position is responsible for procuring materials and services necessary to support the vessels and maximize guest experience.

  • Issue and revise purchase orders for approved service, repair, and material requisitions created in Infoship by management;
  • Source items from suppliers through research and identifying supply options
  • Coordinate logistics of materials or parts for repair up to their final destination
  • Provide follow-up and expediting as needed to ensure arrival of supplies at final destination;
  • Maintain proper backup documentation in the purchase orders file
  • Develop and maintain regular progress reports on initiatives
  • Follow established guidelines and procedures for procurement defined in the Purchasing Manual
  • Perform other job-related functions assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with ships' management to create purchase orders for service, repair, and material requisitions;
  2. Research and identify suitable suppliers for procurement needs;
  3. Coordinate logistics for material or part delivery to ensure timely arrival;
  4. Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping in the purchase orders file;
  5. Maintain regular communication and updates on project status;
  6. Adhere to established procurement procedures and policies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field or related background in technical trading;
  • 1 year of technical purchasing experience, preferably in business or technical purchasing.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Good knowledge of English language.
