Patient Service Specialist

We are seeking a skilled patient service professional to assume this challenging role. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for handling patient inquiries and concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
This involves responding to incoming calls according to established procedures and departmental standards. Additionally, the successful applicant will assist patients with their queries and concerns, collect outstanding balances, and liaise with third-party entities regarding patients' accounts.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. They should also be detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
Detailed Responsibilities- Answer Incoming Calls: Respond to incoming calls according to procedure and departmental standards.
- Assist Patients: Assist patients in their queries and concerns.
- Collect Outstanding Balances: Collect patients' outstanding balance.
- Liaise with Third-Party Entities: Assist third party entities, e.g., insurance, in their queries regarding patients' accounts.
- Place Outbound Collection Calls: Place outbound collection calls according to procedure and departmental standards.
- Assist with Billing Queries: Assist patients in their billing queries and concerns.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure HIPAA guidelines are respected by safeguarding protected health information in the capacity of the position's duties and responsibilities.
- Team Player: Be a team player and supportive of department and company goals and policies.
- Punctuality and Attendance: Be reliable and punctual by maintaining a good attendance record and arriving on time for work and breaks.
- Education: Preferably college graduate or at least 2 years in college.
- Courses Related to Medical Field: Degrees and courses related to medical field are a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Independence: Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Confidentiality: Ability to work with confidential information.
