Technical Support Role

As a technical support specialist, you will provide desktop assistance to customers and team members. Your role will involve troubleshooting hardware, software, telephony, and other associated services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Offer telephone and face-to-face technical assistance to users regarding desktop issues.
  • Follow established procedures, respond to requests for help by providing information to enable users to resolve their problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of faults with resolution and contact details.
  • Maintain accurate records of all times whilst on shift.
  • Evaluate the implementation of hardware/software installations and routine upgrades according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide a professional service by ensuring requests are regularly updated and realistic resolution times are provided.
  • Act as an interface between users and service providers, supplying all necessary diagnostic information according to procedures.
  • Evaluate technical queries not progressing and escalate them to Network Engineers according to established procedures.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant IT support experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Sound knowledge of desktop hardware and both standard and customised (in-house) software.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple problems at once and prioritise issues.
  • A strong customer service focus.
  • A solid understanding of the organisation's Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
