Book Publishing Coordinator Job Description

The Book Publishing Coordinator plays a vital role in bringing creative ideas to life and ensuring the smooth development and promotion of children's books.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Assist in managing book creation from concept to publication; coordinate with freelancers; monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Content Support: Review and provide feedback on drafts; organize and maintain book-related files and documentation.
  • Marketing & Advertising Assistance: Support promotional efforts including advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach; help strategize and execute marketing campaigns across online platforms.
  • Publishing Support: Research best practices for self-publishing platforms; assist in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication; track royalties, sales, and promotional results as needed.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with creatives.
  • Self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment.
  • Familiarity with children's book content and trends is beneficial.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark.
  • Experience with graphic design tools or basic book formatting.
  • Background in marketing or social media promotion for creative products.
