Australian Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Time Bookkeeper to join our team at Australian Outsource Desk Inc.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with a guaranteed morning shift. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in handling Australian accounts, be proficient in MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks Online (QBO), and possess a strong understanding of Australian taxation, BAS preparation, payroll, and general bookkeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage and process supplier invoices, customer invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations using MYOB, Xero, or QBO.
- Payroll: Process payroll, including superannuation, leave accruals, and PAYG reporting.
- BAS/IAS Preparation: Assist in preparing and lodging BAS (Business Activity Statement) and IAS (Income Activity Statement) in compliance with ATO regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and maintain accurate financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in MYOB, Xero, or QBO.
- GST Compliance: Ensure proper GST recording and reporting for all transactions.
- End-of-Month/Year Processes: Assist with end-of-month and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Liaise with Accountants: Collaborate with external accountants for tax preparation and audits as required.
- Client Communication: Manage client inquiries related to financial matters, invoicing, and payroll.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, with specific experience in handling Australian accounts.
- Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Solid understanding of Australian taxation, including BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and Superannuation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
- Experience in managing payroll and superannuation compliance.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other bookkeeping-related software.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.
