About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Professional to manage payroll operations across multiple entities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely weekly payroll processing for over 200 employees.

  • Weekly Payroll Processing:
    • Review and validate timesheets for approximately 150 hourly technicians across five companies.
    • Process weekly payroll for ~50 salaried employees.
    • Manage payroll for ~20 salespeople, including reconciling commission payouts against draws and sales performance.
  • System Management & Employee Lifecycle:
    • Maintain and update employee records in our HR system, including new hire onboarding and terminations.
    • Adjust pay rates and compensation details as needed.
    • Ensure PTO accruals are tracked and applied accurately.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
    • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate employee compensation records.
    • Prepare payroll-related reports and audits as required.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, preferably in a lead or managerial role.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1 year in a lead or managerial role.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, preferably in a cloud-based platform.
  • Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong reconciliation skills, particularly with commission-based compensation.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple entities or business units.
  • Background in industries with hourly field staff (e.g., construction, technical services).
  • Familiarity with PTO policies and accrual methodologies.
