Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing partnerships with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada.
Your primary objective will be to develop strategic relationships with these institutions, aligning our platform with their academic and administrative needs. This will involve conducting thorough market research, understanding the specific challenges and needs of the education sector, and developing tailored strategies for engaging with institutional clients.
You will manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, presenting and pitching our platform to educational leaders, showcasing how it enhances student engagement and academic performance. Additionally, you will negotiate terms, finalize contracts, and ensure a smooth handoff to the partnerships team for onboarding.
In this role, you will also build and maintain long-term relationships with universities, ensuring a deep understanding of their evolving needs. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of our platform within partnered institutions and actively work to expand existing partnerships, identifying opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.
This position requires a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to gather insights from data and market trends to inform business strategies. You must have outstanding relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trust and rapport with senior academic stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably within the education sector or EdTech
