Policy and Compliance Specialist

This is a critical role that oversees all organizational policies and procedures across various departments. It ensures that all policies are up-to-date, compliant with applicable regulations, and systematically reviewed.

The individual in this position will work closely with leadership to maintain review timelines, coordinate compliance meetings, support the development of new policies, and ensure timely completion of required reports.

They will serve as the lead curator of all policies and procedures, maintaining an indexed master library of current and archived versions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Draft new policies and procedures based on leadership directives, operational goals, or changes in regulatory requirements.
    • Distribute draft documents to relevant stakeholders for feedback and incorporate suggested changes.
    • Prepare finalized documents for approval and publication in the official policy repository.
  • Regulatory Reporting Oversight
    • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of all required reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) for licensing, funding, and accreditation entities.
    • Coordinate with assigned departments to ensure timely generation and submission of all required documentation.
    • Track submission status and ensure the accuracy and completeness of report contents.
  • Governance & Compliance Meetings
    • Schedule recurring meetings for compliance, quality assurance, performance improvement, and risk management.
    • Create agendas, track attendance, document minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Policy Inquiry Response & Gap Resolution
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal questions or requests for clarification regarding existing policies and procedures.
    • Review current policy and procedure documents to provide accurate responses and guidance to staff at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, Legal Studies, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or policy management within a healthcare or behavioral health organization.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission, Arizona DHS, and applicable labor and healthcare regulations.
  • Strong technical writing, policy drafting, and document control skills.
