Key Responsibilities
  • Database Management: Monitor and optimize MariaDB clusters and MaxScale load balancers for high availability.
  • Linux Administration: Administer Ubuntu Linux servers on Azure VMs, including patching, tuning, and automation.
  • Azure Resource Management: Manage and optimize Azure resources including Traffic Manager, load balancers, and networking.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years as a MySQL or Maria DBA (cloud or hybrid).
  • Skills: Strong skills in MariaDB clustering and replication preferred but not required. Hands-on Linux (Ubuntu) and Azure administration experience.
  • Performance Tuning: Performance tuning, backup, and disaster recovery know-how.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, scripting).
  • Security Compliance: Experience with security compliance in regulated environments (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
  • Large-Scale Systems: Knowledge of large-scale, high-availability systems.
