Responsibilities
  • Administering and maintaining databases within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Management of cloud resources (EC2 instances, EBS volumes, S3 Backets, etc.)
  • Performance Optimization: Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Data Security: Implementing and enforcing security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with regulations.
  • Backup and Recovery: Developing and executing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, including performance problems, errors, and security breaches.
  • Database Design and Implementation: Assisting with the design, development, and deployment of new databases, including schema design, indexing, and stored procedures.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Setting up monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Capacity Planning: Assessing future resource needs and ensuring sufficient capacity for database growth.
  • Working with other IT teams, such as developers and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration of databases with other systems.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration and AWS cloud services.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) are highly desirable.
