Key Responsibilities:

  • Database software installation, upgrade, and configuration.
  • Defining and implementing physical database layout (both on disk and within the database).
  • Develop scripts for database task scheduling, monitoring and maintenance.
  • Database monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Managing database security, roles, and profiles.
  • Managing database growth, data purging/archiving.
  • Managing database backups and recovery planning.
  • Executing disaster recovery plans.
  • Problem prevention, detection, and correction.
  • Database Reorganizations.
  • Managing, administering, and monitoring the MySQL and MariaDB cluster deployments with the team.
  • Optimizing, standardizing, and documenting the database objects and configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Masters/Bachelors in Engineering preferred
  • Certification as a Database Administrator preferred
  • 6 or more years of Production DBA experience supporting OLTP systems

Required Competencies and Skills:

  • Database design and build of data warehouse/data mart schemas
  • Comprehensive SQL tuning.
  • Linux/Unix administration.
  • Database design and build for data warehouse/data mart/data lake.
  • Experience with production support.
  • Expertise with standard SQL, Triggers, Views, Stored Procedures, and Grants.
  • Understanding of MySQL replication models including statement based, row based, and GTID replication.
  • Experience with both OLTP and OLAP databases and the optimization techniques required for both environments.
  • Strong understanding our various database clusters and environments.
  • Experience with Agile.
  • Experience with NoSQL Mongo or equivalent.
  • Experience with Redhat, Centos and Ubuntu server administration.

HYBRID SETUP - 2-3x a week onsite in BGC, Taguig City
