Job Overview

A Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in addressing patient queries and concerns. Their primary duties involve understanding patient needs by interviewing them and actively listening to their concerns. They then ensure that patients receive the necessary support by coordinating information from various sources, including consumers, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming calls according to established procedures and departmental standards.
  • Assist patients with their inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Gather patients' outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with third-party entities, such as insurance companies, to resolve patients' account-related issues.
  • Making outbound collection calls in accordance with procedure and departmental standards.
  • Provide assistance to patients regarding their billing inquiries and concerns.
  • Ensure HIPAA guidelines are adhered to by safeguarding sensitive health information in line with the position's duties and responsibilities.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and demonstrate support for departmental and company objectives and policies.
  • Maintain a high level of reliability and punctuality through consistent attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours and breaks.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Prior experience or education in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • The capacity to handle confidential information securely is a must.
  • Basic mathematical calculations are expected to be performed accurately.
  • Detailed-oriented approach is necessary.
  • Email proficiency is a requirement.
  • A self-motivated individual who can effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
