Field Merchant Sales Officer

A Field Merchant Sales Officer (FMSO) is responsible for directly engaging with potential and existing merchant clients in the field to drive sales, build relationships, and expand business opportunities. This role requires active, on-the-ground efforts to acquire new merchants, onboard them, and maintain strong relationships. The Field Merchant Sales Officer works closely with sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure merchants are satisfied and engaged with the company's products or services.
Key Responsibilities:- Prospect and Identify New Merchant Opportunities: Actively search for and approach new merchants in assigned territories who could benefit from the company's products or services.
- Conduct Sales Presentations: Meet with potential clients face-to-face to demonstrate and explain the benefits of your company's offerings. Tailor presentations to address the specific needs of the merchant.
- Close Sales: Negotiate contracts and finalize deals with merchants, ensuring a smooth transition from prospecting to signing the merchant on.
- Territory Management: Manage an assigned geographic territory, targeting high-potential areas and segments for merchant acquisition.
- Field Engagement: Regularly visit merchant sites to conduct face-to-face meetings, check on the status of current accounts, and identify new business opportunities.
- Networking: Attend industry events, networking sessions, and trade shows to build your merchant network and identify new sales opportunities.
- Sales Reporting: Document all sales activities, leads, client meetings, and progress in the company's CRM or sales system. Regularly report on sales performance and results to management.
- Account Updates: Provide regular feedback on the status of accounts, including new merchant sign-ups, challenges, and potential upsell opportunities.
- KPI Tracking: Monitor and report key performance indicators such as new merchant sign-ups, retention rates, and sales conversion metrics.
