Primary Responsibilities

  • Source for items and vendors based on the sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of supplier contracts, agreements and communication.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and keeping management informed about the status of orders and procurement activities.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements
  • Closely monitor orders and ensure NO past due orders from suppliers and the latest commitment on the delivery date is available
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and minimize stockouts.
  • Resolve discrepancies in order quantity pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Secure logistics transport for samples needed by R&D and for special trips of items.

Work Experience

  • 3+ years purchasing experience, preferably within an FMCG, QSR or manufacturing environment
  • Background in Supply Chain, Logistics and international trade

Educational Attainment

  • Educational background in Industrial Engineering or equivalent, Business Administration, Economics or Finance

Project and Contracts Management

  • Secure the documentation preparation and filling of purchasing processes and policies
  • Secure the documentation and filling of supplier's contract and supplier accreditation
  • Perform project management support role as a coordinator

COMMUNICATION AND LIAISON

  • Effective communication and collaboration with 3PL partners on operational issues and forecasts

The SC Analyst – Materials Data Operations is responsible and accountable for the end-to-end (E2E) operational material master data creation in SAP, and data quality maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives implementation for SC and the Downstream, Renewables, and Functions class of business.

What’s the role?

  • Create material master records (MMR) for various material and equipment types in GSAP, CHEMSAP, BluePrint, and other SAP-based systems
  • Contact suppliers/vendors and partner with asset engineers, Technical Asset Operations (TAO), inventory analysts, SC Operations Leads, and other business functions to obtain the mandatory information based on the Shell Internal Schema to create MMRs and to ensure business requirements are correctly prioritized and are met on time
  • Implement data quality- related projects and improvement initiatives to deliver value that impacts the business bottom line
  • Drive early involvement in MMR development. Where feasible, this is preferably done through annual plans agreed on with Technical Authorities, Category Managers, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure Data Quality (Right First time, Data is Trusted) is in place
  • Ensure operationalization of data designs that can eliminate waste, transform towards right-first time and strong data quality (DQ)
  • Ensure disciplined daily execution of operational data processes across E2E SC to enable improvement and optimization, thus contributing to Shell targets for improved cost and delivery.
