Overview

The Accounting Department is responsible for the management and health of the school’s assets. The department ensures that all financial and security transactions regarding school management are processed according to accepted accounting principles and University policies. Day-to-day tasks include collections and disbursement, compensation and benefits facilitation, purchasing, treasury management and preparation of reports. The department is headed by the Chief Finance Officer.

A. JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for a variety of basic accounting functions such as receiving and releasing payments, preparing and releasing vouchers, and the preparation of reports. Everyone in the accounting department is expected to be familiar with the job of other accounting staff with the same or lower rank. Accuracy and timeliness are required for all accounting functions.

B. DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares school financial statements and consolidation package to PEHI monthly;
  • Reviews finance staff monthly reports;
  • Supervises assigned accounting staff;
  • Reviews forms and reports to be submitted to government regulatory agencies;
  • Reviews BIR tax filings;
  • Oversees preparation of audit schedules;
  • Reviews Petty Cash Fund/Emergency Fund Replenishment;
  • Review and monitors liquidation of cash advances;
  • Performs variance analysis for assigned accounts; Monitors deposit liability accounts;
  • Prepares and reconciles of Intercompany Transactions;
  • Review revenue reports on a regular basis; Reviews purchase orders; Monitors budget;
  • Posts ACCPAC transactions;
  • Acts as a Teller as the need arises.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Has at least one (1) year relevant experience, preferably in General Finance and Cost-Accounting roles
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel - managing spreadsheets, use of advanced formulas)
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations
  • Ammendable to work in Santa Cruz, Laguna - PHINMA Union College of Laguna
