Compliance Officer

Join an insurance group and play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll assist in developing compliance programs, coordinating submissions to government authorities, and maintaining product standards that meet industry regulations. This role suits someone detail-oriented with strong knowledge of insurance legislation and a proactive approach to managing compliance requirements. Regulatory Compliance and Coordination Assist in establishing and coordinating legislative, regulatory, contractual, and other compliance processes. Support the planning and preparation of submissions to relevant government authorities regarding product specifications. Help develop and maintain regulatory policies, procedures, and compliance programs. Recommend updates or changes to product specifications in line with statutory requirements. Arrange re-registration of existing product lines and follow up on applications to ensure timely approvals. Reporting and Research Contribute to the development of regulatory reports for regional and overseas offices, where applicable. Research and source political and industry information to keep the organization up to date with regulatory trends. Systems and Risk Management Support the rollout and maintenance of compliance-related software systems to manage compliance obligations. Assist in risk management and risk reporting activities as required. Contract and Administrative Support Provide assistance in contract management and administration when needed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar role. Understanding of Australian and New Zealand insurance industry regulations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong ability to interpret and apply regulatory legislation. Knowledge of political and economic structures in key operating regions.
