A leading telecommunications infrastructure provider is seeking an experienced IP Transport Engineer to support the end-to-end delivery of customer network projects. This role involves full project lifecycle responsibility – from initial design and documentation through to on-site implementation, testing, and final customer acceptance. It will suit engineers with a background in DWDM transmission networks, particularly across platforms such as Huawei, Nokia, or Ciena.

Responsibilities
  • Produce Site Survey Reports, Low-Level Designs (LLDs), Link Diagrams, DCN/Sync Designs, and Acceptance Test Protocols (ATPs)

Implementation & Testing

  • Perform installation verification, commissioning, and integration of DWDM platforms
  • Conduct performance validation and lead customer-facing acceptance testing
  • Secure final project sign-off

Technical Leadership

  • Support field technicians and serve as point of technical escalation during deployments
  • Mentor junior staff and maintain engineering quality standards

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work alongside Field Services, Project Managers, and Operations teams
  • Ensure timely documentation, reporting, and resolution of technical issues
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in DWDM transmission network engineering
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Huawei, Nokia, or Ciena systems (commissioning & testing)
  • Fiber handling and tools experience (e.g. splicing, OTDR, OSA, fiber scopes)
  • Confident producing LLDs, Visio diagrams, and ATP documentation
  • Willingness to travel to sites when required
