Overview Training Officer role focused on fulfilling educational requirements for new and existing staff, including new recruits and intermediaries. The position collaborates with HR to administer needs assessments, gauge skills shortages, and address them through tailored training programs. The goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of non-life insurance lines to provide high-quality training. Responsibilities Study and contribute to the operations and climate of the company. Develop and maintain a professional, dedicated training solution to cover all appropriate training needs. Provide high-quality training to internal and external clients. Draft instructional manuals, onboarding materials, and other relevant documentation. Review existing resources and create new learning materials (manuals, videos, blog posts, information guides, etc.). Plan, create, and deliver training programs (webinars, online certificate courses, self-paced e-learning, etc.) to address skill gaps and facilitate knowledge acquisition. Research and manage relationships with external subject matter experts and consultants to supplement training efforts. Coordinate external training for employees and intermediaries as needed. Prepare and conduct onboarding training sessions for new employees across departments. Administer regular, detailed needs assessments in collaboration with HR to identify skills deficits. Address skills deficits through tailored in-house training. Ensure training requirements are adequately specified and documented. Maintain effective communication with intermediaries to establish training needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of training and modify materials as appropriate. Analyze feedback from employees to identify areas for improvement and implement changes. Stay up to date on learning trends and recommend new training programs and LMS solutions. Develop and maintain training material to high standards for internal and external courses. Discuss client training needs when necessary. Collaborate with Sales to tailor customer training courses to specific requirements. Ensure training provision meets customer requirements and is evaluated appropriately. Establish the effectiveness of training and acquire feedback for future planning. Develop and maintain training material and keep it aligned with changes. Ensure materials are appropriate to employees’ and intermediaries’ requirements and reflect company developments. Organize and conduct BNLI (basic or specified program); include preparing invitations, summaries, links, and session delivery across two Saturdays. Coordinate with BNLI participants regarding IC Licensure Exam, including registration, exam guidance, and post-exam follow-up. Organize other training courses as needed, including invitations, enrollment summaries, webinar links, and handouts. For employee attendees, prepare Certificates of Attendance and provide attendance records to HR. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree with a preferred Business Science major. Experience: Prior experience as a Training Officer, Training Administrator, or similar role. Qualification in instruction and/or learning design is advantageous. Skills: Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and keyboard proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to conduct thorough needs assessments with HR to gauge training needs. Strong research, presentation, and reporting skills. Energetic, determined, and capable disposition. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Knowledge of latest training tools, methods, and instructional design theory. Basic Training Requirements: Experience in the insurance industry is desirable. Experience designing, delivering, and maintaining training materials is essential.
