WHAT IS AN ACCOUNTANT?

Our awesome client, a leading accounting firm in Australia is looking for an Accountant to be part of their Team.

The clients are looking for an experienced, qualified Accountant to act as support for our clients including handling of individual tax returns, small business returns and BAS lodgements.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES?

Accurate and timely preparation of client financial statements and tax returns for individuals, and small to medium businessesAssisting with lodgement to the ATO within lodgement timeframesCompletion of IAS and BAS returns before the ATO due dateReconciling and reviewing accounts in a timely mannerBusiness budgeting and cash flow management.Ad-hoc assistance to the accounting team as required WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Min 3 to 5 years' experience in Public Practice in Australian Tax (Income Tax and GST)Preferably with extensive knowledge using XeroWilling to work Australian hours (Perth)Perfect and excellent written and spoken EnglishKnowledge of the Australian Tax System and LegislationAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Advanced knowledge of Gmail / Google Doc, Sheets, Mail, CalendarExperience with Australian businesses is preferrePERSONAL SKILLS & QUALITIESWilling to take initiative on tasks when the opportunity arisesWilling to make suggestions or create efficiencies if they think there is a smarter way of doing things.Strong Problem-Solving Skills Strong time management with a sense of urgency Strong and High Attention to details and documentation High energy, team orientated Excellent management / organisational skills Precise, accurate, attention to detail a must Ability to quickly adapt and provide resolutions Ability to deliver in a fast and efficient in an accurate manner and within TAT Ability to work unsupervised and must have initiative/self starterMust have the ability to multitask in a dynamic business environmentMust demonstrate initiative and a 'can do' attitude – solutions-oriented and results focused
