Our Bar Tenders and Waiters are always ready to invite guests to try the drink of the day or to make an appropriate suggestion from our latest wine or beer selection, bringing a special taste to every cruise.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising ship beverage service and personnel, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all beverage areas, and ensuring the highest standards of beverage service to guests and all personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Bar Manager in providing professional, friendly, and profitable beverage services in all outlets.Ensure guests receive timely service and are not kept waiting unreasonably.Implement creative sales and profit-generating strategies, including happy hours, daily specials, and themed events.Adhere to all company sanitation procedures and ensure compliance within the bar team.Supervise bar service for the crew, maintaining company sanitation standards.Conduct daily self-inspection checks to meet company sanitation and safety requirements.Maintain cleanliness, proper set-ups, and appropriate signage in all bar areas.Utilize the Fidelio cashless system and participate in required training programs.Ensure all bars and wine stores are fully stocked to par levels at all times.Provide comprehensive familiarization and training for all bar personnel.Maintain high morale within the bar department and foster positive relationships with other shipboard departments.Ensure fair and unbiased treatment for all bar personnel.Assist in coordinating sign-on and sign-off procedures for bar personnel.Participate in the pre-evaluation of bar personnel before disembarkation.Assist in compiling a full inventory of equipment and stock.Attend weekly meetings and training programs, documenting and filing details.Participate in cabin inspections of bar personnel to ensure order, cleanliness, and hygiene.Advise the Bar Manager of resignations, dismissals, or other signoffs on time.Maintain an accurate log of uniforms, equipment, and keys issued to personnel.Attend and assist in coordinating beverage activities at parties and special functions.Ensure the correct use of standard glassware, recipes, proportions, and measures.Be present during physical inventory stock takes.Ensure the availability of sugar-free or diet drinks and fruit juices in all bars.Regularly check bar and lounge areas for cleanliness, reporting deficiencies to the Housekeeping Department.Maintain par levels in all beverage outlets.Report breakages, spoilage, or losses to the Bar Manager.Submit beverage requisitions to the Food and Beverage Manager promptly.Participate in preparing bottle store requests and stay informed of stock availability.Conduct weekly spot-check inventories in bars, reporting results to the Bar Manager and taking necessary actions.Enforce the company's policy prohibiting minors from consuming alcohol.Ensure all bars are securely locked when unattended.Qualifications:Has 5 years of cruise ship experience on the same post is required.Certification in Food Safety and Basic Safety Training (BST).Certificate or diploma from a recognized international bar school or training academy.Philippine passport holder; valid for 1 year.Proven knowledge and experience in bar systems, operations, and beverages.Demonstrated understanding of food safety practices.Strong cash handling, accounting, and computerized bar system skills.Proven ability to implement revenue-generating strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.Physically fit to meet the demands of the job.
