JOB SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible for ensuring that all beverages made/served are of high standards and according to company serving portion policy. She is also responsible for the orderliness/cleanliness of the bar and readiness for service. This position is also expected to deliver a 'Wow' experience in a fast paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operations

Offer guests high quality service, adhering to restaurant / bar's policies and procedure.Prepare mise en place for operation, including but not limited to garnishes, ice, bottled and canned drinks.Ensure hygiene and cleanliness of the bar at all times.Follow the opening and closing checklist on a daily basis.Greet / welcome guests as they arrive at the bar.Present the menu and make recommendations (must be knowledgeable of variety of liquors being offered, food items portion, cooking method, ingredients and length of time to prepare).Assess guest needs / requirements.Take accurate orders, note preferences / special requests and repeat orders to customer.Offer daily specials and promotions.Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages in compliance with restaurant/bar standards and timeframe to achieve speed of service.Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by liquor regulations, particularly those refusing service and proper handling of minors, intoxicated guests, and disorderly guests.Multi-task between taking orders and mixing drinks and collecting payment during busy hours.Accountable for daily, weekly and monthly inventory of the bar area.Order all necessary supplies to ensure the bar is well-stocked.Participate in creating new beverage menus for the outlet. Create new beverages in accordance to customer, social, and business trends.Responsible for cleaning and maintaining bar equipment such as coffee machines, blender, juicer, etc.Report any discrepancies, concerns to Restaurant Assistant Manager.Ensure proper handover / endorsement to incoming shift. 2. Complaint ManagementAttend to customer complaints and apply H.E.A.R.T method :Hear: Listen to what the customer is saying, and do not interruptEmpathize: Put yourself in the customer's shoes and let them know you understand their situationApologizeRespond: Solve the problem. If it can't be solved right away, let them know that you are starting the process immediately. Set expectations. If it's something you need to look into, let them know when you will get back to them with an answer.Thank: Thank the customer for bringing the problem to your attentionInform Supervisor on the action taken to resolve the complaint.QUALIFICATIONSAt least High School graduatePreferably at least one (1) year service experience in any 5 star hotel/casinoHas an experienced working in high-end bars, creating beverage menus and cocktail recipesExperience in gaming or hospitality industry is an advantageStrong skill in upselling or suggestive sellingKnowledge of inventory or stock takingStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent customer service skills
