ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Does (The tasks / responsibilities that the role performs to address requirements in Key Result Areas)
i. Ability to gather business requirements and translate the requirements to reports and dashboards
ii. Create simple yet effective dashboards, reports, etc. as needed by the business in
support of projects and operational requirements
iii. Provide actionable insights by performing data analysis and data mining
iv. Perform complex ad hoc data queries and provide data extracts as needed by the business
v. Create and update documentation and help maintain the team document portal
vi. Build complex queries on large volumes of data using SQL
vii. Act as primary Analyst for urgent data and reporting requirements as required by the Leadership team
viii. Act as L1/L2 Analyst for urgent operational data requirements
ix. Ability to provide requirements, updates, and resolve known issues in timely manner
x. Support Delivery team in the distribution of reports, data files, etc. via email and sftp, and maintenance of distribution list
xi. Create and update operations support documentation, and maintain tech and operations support document portal. Ensure data security practices in the deployed pipelines
xii. Standardize different queries and optimize them to speed up query times
xiii. Build automation workflows and ensures job uptime and performance
xiv. Attend escalated support calls during business hours and outside business hours (e.g. weekdays after 6 PM, during weekends and holidays, etc.)
xv. Identify automation opportunities and implement workflows
xvi. Maintain uptime for different automation tasks
Displays (The Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors indicating how tasks / responsibilities will be performed)
i. Ability to handle urgent data and reporting requirements from the business
ii. Willingness to work with different stakeholders across the organization
iii. Leadership skills to help establish the team's ways-of-working, processes, deliverables, and documentation
Strong collaboration skills
v. Agile mindset with 'fail fast, learn fast' attitude
vi. Detail-oriented to verify the integrity of gathered data and reports
vii. Experience in analytics and data warehousing concepts, terminologies, and architecture
viii. Good oral and presentation skills are a must
ix. Excellent team player with good analytical skills in providing insights to numbers
x. Ability to work closely with colleagues to try and identify data related problems and solve them
xi. Capability to adapt, develop or introduce projects that can be used for data analysis
xii. Coordinates and supports the Technical Team on the updates of the Data Sources System

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum requirements in terms of experience and background, skills and competencies for sourcing purposes)

Main Skill:
Advanced SQL Developer and Data Visualization experience.

  • Experience working with SQL required
  • Experience in Google Data Studio, Google Sheets, Excel required
  • Experience in Google BigQuery, Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, DaaS preferred
  • Experience in Hadoop or Big Data technologies preferred
  • Experience working with MySQL preferred
  • Experience working with Python/Scala preferred
  • Experience in JIRA and Confluence preferred
