Key Areas of Accountability:

1. Achievement of monthly target per Product with a goal of achieving annual targets as well.

2. Managing financial resources of the company assigned to the district specifically for promotional expenses that should lead to achievement of Targets.

3. Managing 6-10 Territory Managers (per district). By ensuring that the KPI's expected of said TMRs are consistently achieved.

4. Conduct Product Presentations/ Focus Group discussions for the team in case a resource speaker is unavailable.

5. Create and develop new opportunities for marketing thru: (Trade, Gov't, Hosp, Industrial etc) or other venues that will yield profit for the company.

6. Train existing TMRs in the team being handled in terms of overall development.

7. Collaborate with distributors in ensuring efficient delivery of our products to points of purchase.

8. Coach & Motivate the team/district being handled to ensure maximum performance of each PMR.

Competencies required:

  • Problem Solving
    The DSM is tasked to address all sorts of situations that may come in a days work: His day's tasks are never entirely the same. He is expected to be able to find solutions to whatever problem arises in relation to our work. (Example: Out of stock situation in an area where an irate MD has an irate customer. In this scenario, the DSM must be able to pacify both by providing stock at all cost. A non-delivery is not an option here.
  • Accountability
    The DSM post has indeed a direct impact on end results; (example: in the bidding for products to be purchased by a hospital. The DSM is tasked to provide his NSM an accurate analysis of what price we are to provide that will ensure winning the bid while assuring profitability on the part of the company. His analysis and recommendation is vital in winning the Bid and gaining the sale.

Minimum Qualification:

  • 4-year college degree
  • Must have been a Sales Manager for at least 5 years
  • Strong Key Account Management skills with experience as a Sales Manager
  • Should have strong analytical skills, innovative, organized and can effectively coach sales personnel
  • Proven track record in sales with strong leadership skills
