This Role

PayJoy is hiring a high-caliber Country Manager in Philippines who can help us scale the business. The right candidate will be a talented and ambitious leader, looking for a high-growth opportunity at a high-impact startup, while also deeply motivated by and aligned with PayJoy's mission to empower the next billion smartphone users.

As Philippines Country Manager, you will be PayJoy's primary in-country executive, in charge of identifying the appropriate business strategy, negotiating with partners, leading existing and new operations implementation, and overseeing the country's P&L. You will coordinate between our San Francisco headquarters business development, product teams, risk, finance, and major businesses operating in your country, including some of the largest mobile network operators, retailers, and financial companies locally. You will use your strong business experience to build successful relationships with partners and create a thriving new enterprise. You may travel extensively in the Philippines to meet with partners.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the President, GTM to hit quarterly and annual OKRs.
  • Determine regional business strategy; oversee its implementation and own P&L.
  • Maintain, initiate, deploy and manage partner relationships to scale the business.
  • Partner with PayJoy product, risk, finance and business development teams.
  • "Own" the Philippines market and autonomously drive local success.
  • Oversee recruiting and managing a multi-functional rockstar team locally.
Requeriments
  • General management and startup experience scaling an existing high-potential market.
  • Business development and relationship management expertise with existing and new partners.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience managing medium to large multi-functional teams.
  • Strategic leader who can drive local business model iteration while able to dive into the details of all elements of the business, including experience owning P&L.
  • Top-ranked MBA highly recommended.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish required.
