Job Overview: 

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team in the role of Commercial Assistant for our engineering projects in the Philippines. As the Commercial Assistant, you will be responsible for providing essential coordination support to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of commercial aspects within projects. This role involves assisting with various tasks related to contract drafting/reviewing, payment tracking, and contract claims. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Reviewing and Drafting Contracts/Subcontracts: This involves examining contracts or subcontracts to ensure they align with company interests and legal requirements. It also includes drafting new contracts or modifying existing ones as needed. 
  • Identifying and Addressing Contract/Project Risks: This task involves assessing potential risks associated with the project or contract, such as delays, or disputes, and developing strategies to mitigate them. 
  • Timely Billing Application and Follow-Up: Ensuring that billing applications are submitted on time and following up on any outstanding invoices or payments which are crucial for maintaining cash flow and financial stability within the project. 
  • Maintaining Up-to-Date Records: Keeping accurate and organized records of all project-related documents, including contracts, invoices, correspondence, and change orders, is essential for tracking project progress and resolving disputes. 
  • Monitoring Contract Milestones, Deliverables, and Obligations: Tracking and managing key milestones, deliverables, and obligations outlined in the contract ensures that the project stays on schedule and meets client expectations. 
  • Coordinating with Project Team and Clients Regarding Contract Claims and Issues: Facilitating communication and collaboration between internal project teams and external clients to address any contract-related claims or issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. 
  • Customer Relationship Development and Maintenance: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients is crucial for ensuring satisfaction and potentially securing future business opportunities. 
  • Other Tasks Assigned by Commercial Manager: This could include a variety of additional responsibilities, depending on the specific needs of the project or organization. 

     

    Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, law or a related field preferred. 
At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in EPC project management or commercial support role is advantageous. Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the electric industry and Philippine is important for ensuring compliance and avoiding legal issues. Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and other prevailing standard- contract conditions adopted organizations like World Bank and other financing institutions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Fluency in English is required. 

 

 

Working Conditions: 

This position is typically based in an office environment. Occasional travel may be required to project sites or client meetings.
