We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead the expansion into the Philippines market as the Head of Project Development for utility-scale solar projects. Our client is a leading international renewable energy company, they are dedicated to driving the transition to sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Project Development: Lead the development of renewable energy and energy storage projects in the Philippines, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with WHSE standards and profitability targets.
  2. Pipeline Expansion: Drive the expansion of our project pipeline by identifying and evaluating new renewable energy investment opportunities, forging strong partnerships with land aggregators, developers, and development partners.
  3. Feasibility Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence on project opportunities, considering land, development, permitting, regulatory, stakeholder, and grid connection aspects.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Actively manage external stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels, as well as internal stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing project development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  6. Commercial Governance: Oversee project reviews, forecasting, budget management, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with company standards and objectives.
  7. Market Analysis: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the energy market and regulatory environment, analyzing the impact of market and regulatory changes on future business strategies.
  8. Relationship Building: Develop and nurture professional relationships with regional and local stakeholders, land aggregators, project developers, regulatory agencies, and industry participants.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: Degree or post-graduate qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in managing multiple energy projects, with a focus on renewable energy development, preferably in solar, battery, or wind energy. Utility-scale of solar project experience is an advantage.
  3. Project Management: Certified Project Management Professionals (PMP) are preferred, with demonstrated expertise in leading project teams and managing project lifecycles effectively.
  4. Industry Knowledge: Intimate understanding of local regulatory processes, stakeholders, and decision-making frameworks, particularly in the energy sector.
  5. Networking: Strong network with local developers and EPC providers, facilitating collaboration and resource mobilization for project execution.
  6. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Autonomy and Initiative: Proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously, identify new project opportunities, and drive existing opportunities to fruition.
