You will be responsible for accurately measuring and calculating the quantities of materials needed for a construction project based on blueprints and site conditions, using industry standard methods like the Australian and New Zealand Standard Method of Measurement (ANZSMM), to produce detailed "Bills of Quantities" used for cost estimation and tendering purposes.

Work Set-Up: Work onsite | Mon-Fri | 6am - 3pm

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Bill of Quantities & Takeoffs
  • Accurately measuring dimensions from construction drawings and converting them into quantities of materials like concrete, bricks, timber, etc.
  • Following the standardized measurement guidelines set out by the Australian and New Zealand Standard Method of Measurement (ANZSMM) to ensure consistency and accuracy in quantity calculations.
  • Creating detailed documents that list itemized quantities of materials, labour, and associated costs for each construction element, used by contractors to price tenders.
  • Utilizing Cubit software to perform calculations, generate BoQs, and visualize 3D models for measurement purposes

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, architecture, or a relevant
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
  • Expertise in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Method of Measurement (ANZSMM) and relevant construction measurement standards
  • Proficiency in the construction measurement Cubit software.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Quantity Surveyor, Measurement Surveyor.
  • Good Communication Skills - written (Spelling to British English) and verbal English skills.
  • Motivated, Team player and able to work as part of a team of Estimators and Surveyors.
  • Member of the Professional Quantity Surveyors organisations such as: PICQS, RICS or AIQS (bonus).
