E-commerce Merchandiser

The E-Commerce Merchandiser supports all online sales activities, best practices, and the customer experience for our client based in the US, this account is a leading provider of portable heating solutions, specializing in propane and natural gas heaters for indoor and outdoor use. This position is integral to activities including setting up items in retailer portals while delivering compelling marketing content that engages customers across the e-commerce retailer landscape.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of e-commerce merchandising experience.
- Utilize strategic thinking to problem solve and increase sales.
- Identify opportunities and gaps with internal processes as well as customer processes.
- Provide best in class service to our customers.
- Collaborate with Stanley Black & Decker to enhance products / overall sales plan.
- Share innovative ideas and recommendations with the team.
- Set up items on various retailer websites and manage an auditing process to ensure product listings are available, accurate, and compliant to internal/external standards.
- Assist with the day-to-day responsibilities for key retailers including content maintenance and ad-hoc requests from the buyers/retailer contacts.
- Communicate Supply Chain/inventory delays with Retail Partners.
- Ensure EGI brand image and product content is accurate and compelling to incite consumer purchases.
- Complete white space analyses for retailers seeing where there are products missing from site that can be added to their overall assortment.
- Update content on retailer sites, ensuring the most recent images and data is being utilized (copy, images, bullet points, key words, removing discontinued products from site).
- Analyze and run promotions with retailers where strategically makes sense.
- Evaluate the performance of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Partner closely with the internal creative team to align on initiatives.
- Analyze the inventory levels in retailers' online warehouses and suggest products and inventory quantities to order to remain in stock of product.
- Improve ratings and reviews of products on retailer sites to increase sales.
- Respond/manage certain compliance requests from retailers in order for our product to remain onsite and sellable.
- Ensure products are in the correct product category/department.
- Execute competitive retail analysis to ensure the Company is remaining competitive in the marketplace.
- Ensure products are properly variated and remain properly variated.
- Analyze and action large quantities of data from retailer sites and portals.
- Increase page position/online discoverability for products.
- Examine return data to improve the product and content.
- Analyze retailer point-of-sale data and make adjustments/take action to increase sales.
- Quickly initiate corrective actions when necessary to ensure a positive customer experience across trading partner sites.
- Collaborate with cross functional departments including Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to research content and digital assets for creating a world class consumer experience across all trading partner platforms.
- Maintain relationships with key buying contacts to drive sales performance of the EGI portfolio of brands.
- May initiate paid advertising and content optimization activities for key accounts in accordance with annual budget guidelines.
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred (Business, Communications, Marketing, or related area of study)
- Knowledge of Content Management Systems
- Experience with uploading e-commerce product catalogs on key retailer sites including but not limited to Amazon, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Lowes
Knowledge of retail/e-commerce requirements including key word search, compliance, campaign buildouts, bid optimizations, reporting
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly skilled at manipulating data in Excel
- High degree of initiative
- Ability to manage and mine large amounts of data from multiple inputs
- Process and detail-oriented with aptitude to learn quickly
- Understanding of Customer Service and Sales principles
- Collaborative and willing to work across teams in a fast paced environment with many unknown variables
