Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Present menus and answer questions about dishes, ingredients, and specials.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, using a POS system or by memorization.
  • Deliver food and drinks promptly and efficiently.
  • Check on customers to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
  • Handle complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Prepare and present checks, process payments (cash, credit, etc.), and ensure accurate balances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including setting tables and bussing.
  • Follow health and safety regulations regarding food handling and storage.
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen and bar staff regarding orders and any issues.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as restocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
  • Be familiar with the menu and any daily specials or promotions.
  • Suggest menu items and up-sell when appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.
  • Basic math skills for calculating bills and making change.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service practices.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is a plus.
