A heavy equipment mechanic in a construction company inspects, diagnoses, and repairs heavy machinery like excavators and loaders, performing both preventative maintenance and complex repairs on engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency. Responsibilities also include ordering parts, maintaining repair logs, using diagnostic tools, adhering to safety regulations, and sometimes traveling to job sites. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection & Diagnosis: Examine heavy equipment for proper function, identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and diagnose the extent of needed repairs.
  • Repairs & Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and complex repairs, such as replacing worn parts and rebuilding hydraulic components.
  • Specialized Repairs: Conduct repairs on various systems, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Parts & Tools: Determine necessary parts for repairs, order them, and utilize diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all repairs and maintenance performed on the equipment.
  • Site Travel: Travel to various construction job sites to perform necessary repairs and maintenance on-site.

Typical Equipment Worked On: Excavators, Loaders, Trenchers, Forklifts, and Grader blades and loader buckets. Required Skills:

  • High degree of mechanical skill
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to use various diagnostic and repair tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work on feet for extended periods

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term

Pay: Php25, Php30,000.00 per month
