We are seeking a DCS, C&I and OT Specialist to provide sound, decisive technical advice and support to site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams within the Thermal Business Group.

This role is critical for the continuing improvement and reliability management of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA, and all Control and Instrumentation (C&I) systems across our combined power plant assets. You will contribute to optimizing the plant's technical and economical performance by focusing on availability, reliability, and maintainability. The Specialist helps resolve issues inhibiting flexible plant performance through the use of RCAs and CARs.

Key Responsibilities:

The Specialist drives system integrity and lifecycle management:

  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop optimized maintenance strategies using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode Effect Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for DCS, C&I, and OT critical assets, ensuring documentation in the CMMS.
  • Lifecycle Management: Develop comprehensive Lifecycle Management Plans (LCMP) addressing necessary replacement, refurbishment, modifications, and obsolescence for DCS, C&I, and OT systems throughout their planned life.
  • Risk & Security: Ensure OT system risks, including cyber security risks, are identified, addressed, and managed to acceptable levels through regular audits and monitoring.
  • Outage Support: Define maintenance strategies, scope of work, and provide technical advice for planned and long-term outages concerning DCS, C&I, and OT systems.
  • Change Management: Contribute to the Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) process for review and implementation of changes and modifications.
  • Project Execution: Execute or extend support for assigned engineering projects (LCMP, EMOC, or other initiatives) and verify that project work adheres to quality requirements.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

Education & Licensing:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation or equivalent.
  • License (Mandatory): Evidence of Professional Competence, specifically PRC licensed Electronics/Electrical Engineer (ECE/REE), or equivalent.

Experience:

  • A minimum of at least 3 years of professional experience working with DCS, C&I, and OT systems. (Leadership or project management experience is not specifically required).

Technical Competencies:

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in:

  • DCS/SCADA/PLC Systems: Knowledge of system architecture, configuration, and basic programming.
  • Diagnostics & Fault Management: Skills in fault identification, resolution, and on-line fault analysis for C&I systems.
  • Power Plant Technology: Thorough understanding of process implications and C&I devices, calibration, and operational limits.
  • Cybersecurity & Networking: Understanding of networking and knowledge of cybersecurity standards and systems.
