JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring that all bakery products are manufactured and released in compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring production processes, implementing food safety programs (e.g., GMP, HACCP), conducting inspections and audits, and investigating quality issues. The position plays a key role in maintaining product integrity and promoting continuous quality improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALITY ASSURANCE MONITORING

  1. Monitors production activities to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  2. Conducts in-process and end-of-line checks on product quality, weight, packaging, labeling, and hygiene compliance.
  3. Verifies critical control points (CCPs) and performs pre-operational and environmental hygiene checks.

DOCUMENTATION & COMPLIANCE

  1. Maintains accurate QA records, including inspection logs, deviation reports, and corrective actions.
  2. Supports implementation and maintenance of HACCP, ISO 22000, or other food safety systems.
  3. Prepares QA reports for review by management and regulatory bodies as required.

NON-CONFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  1. Identifies, documents, and investigates product and process non-conformances.
  2. Assists in root cause analysis and implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  3. Quarantines and tracks non-conforming products and initiates proper disposal or rework processes.

PRODUCT TESTING & ANALYSIS

  1. Performs basic laboratory tests or coordinates with the QC team for testing of raw materials, finished goods, or packaging materials.
  2. Ensures that testing procedures and instruments are calibrated and validated.
  3. Evaluates test results and reports anomalies to the Quality Manager.

INTERNAL AUDITS & TRAINING

  1. Participates in internal audits of production, hygiene, and documentation systems.
  2. Assists in preparing for third-party, customer, and regulatory audits.
  3. Provides basic food safety and quality training to production staff as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (required).
  2. 1-2 years of experience in QA or food safety in a food or bakery manufacturing environment.
  3. Knowledgeable in using the SAP system.
  4. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards
  5. Good attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
