Admits patients; Gives direct nursing care; Identifies nursing needs of patients; Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care; Performs nursing activities such as bathing and oral hygiene; Assists patient in moving, maintaining proper alignment of patient's body and utilizing good body mechanics; Takes and records vital signs; Observes medical sepsis; Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate and records these in her chart; Reports observations to the physician; Observes and responds to patients' emotional, physical and spiritual needs; Acts as liaison between patients and hospital personnel; Prepares patients for, and assists physicians with, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; Carries out doctor's legal orders; Assists physicians when examining patients; Performs irrigations, catheterizations and gives enemas; Administers and charts medications and patients' reactions to medications; Sees to it that equipment received proper care and maintenance; Discharge patients; Instructs patients and families, gives health teachings Teaches and directs nonprofessional nursing personnel; Acts as a senior when so delegated; Receives and endorses ward equipment and supplies; Interprets hospital policies and procedures; Maintains good relationship with other hospital personnel; Charts accurately medications and treatments given. Attend meetings and seminars Performs post-mortem care
