Job Purpose:

A Customs Broker Representative serves as a key facilitator in local and international trade logistics, bridging the gap between importers/exporters and government authorities. Their core responsibility is to ensure the efficient and compliant clearance of goods through Philippine customs, adhering strictly to national customs laws and tariff regulations.

Job Requirements:

• Represent clients before government agencies such as the Bureau of Customs (BOC), ensuring accurate and timely submission of entries.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations and client satisfaction.
• Calculate and declare duties and taxes based on the classification and valuation of goods.
• Consult on customs and tariff matters, advising clients on regulatory changes, compliance strategies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with logistics providers and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery and release of shipments.
• Monitor and resolve customs-related issues, including disputes over valuation, classification, or documentation.
• Support the marketing team and actively participate in company marketing initiatives to contribute to brand awareness, client engagement, and promotional campaigns.
• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned to support the company's operational and strategic needs.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure client permits and licenses are complete and updated.
• Closely collaborate with the Documentation and Accounting team to ensure accuracy and completeness of documents such as: Commercial invoices, Packing lists, Bills of lading, Certificates of origin.
• Stay updated on changes in customs laws, tariff schedules, and trade agreements.
• Ensure compliance with local financial and business regulations.
• Advise clients on compliance strategies to avoid penalties and delays.
• Coordinate and deliver physical documents, checks, or forms to clients, suppliers, or government offices as required.

Client and Operational Support

• Provide consultation services to clients regarding import/export procedures and requirements.
• Monitor shipment status and provide updates to clients.
• Assist in resolving customs-related issues, including audits and inspections.
• Maintain organized records of transactions and communication for audit and reporting purposes.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or any related field.
• Must be a licensed Customs Broker.
• Strong knowledge of customs and tariff laws, international trade practices and logistics operations.
• Proficiency in electronic filing systems and customs software (eg. E2m Customs Systems)
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Customs Brokerage.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, and persuasive negotiation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Acts with initiative and responsibility, approaching challenges with an owner's mindset.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powepoint, Outlook) and customs-related software or systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of the English language, both oral and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally to clients.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
