About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Semi-Senior Accountant and Bookkeeper to join our growing accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in accounting and bookkeeping who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day reconciliations, supporting managers, and assisting with preparation of client accounts.|

Key Responsibilities
 Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for multiple clients or business units

 Prepare and process journal entries, depreciation, accruals, and prepayments

 Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and control accounts

 Reconcile accounts payable and receivable functions

 Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings

 Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports

 Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve queries

 Prepare year-end accounts to draft stage ready for manager to review

 Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations

 Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

Requirements
 Part-qualified ACCA / ACA / AAT Level 3 or above (or equivalent experience)

 Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role

 Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles

 Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

 Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable
 Experience working in a practice environment

 Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems

 Knowledge of UK tax regulations and compliance
