Job Summary:

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels, proper storage, and efficient tracking of goods. This role manages inventory staff, monitors inventory systems, coordinates with other departments, and works to minimize discrepancies and stock variances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise inventory control staff and oversee daily inventory operations.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems (e.g., WMS or ERP).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and report findings.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and tracking of inventory items.
  • Work closely with purchasing, receiving, and warehouse teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure inventory processes comply with company policies and safety standards.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports to management.
  • Train staff on inventory procedures and systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a warehouse environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items as needed in a warehouse setting.

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • May involve standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Occasional extended hours or weekend work during inventory counts.
