What you will do:

  • Carefully do adjustment of eyewear, assess the condition prior to doing something.
  • Get the right power of lenses, report to their immediate supervisor in case of wrong power.
  • Cut the opthalmic lenses based on the exact shape and size of the frame.
  • Take necessary measurements precisely such as segment, pupil, vertical and horizontal height.
  • Can operate manual and automatic edging machine.
  • Ability to cut any type of lenses and able to mount it at any type of frame.
  • Produce quality and premium spectacle.
  • Finish the job in less than 1 hour.

Workflow Compliance

  • In case of damages, hand over the damaged lenses to their immediate supervisor together with incident report.
  • Verify the work order versus actual prescription, lens type, and frame.
  • Perform Quality Check of the lenses or spectacles delivered by the supplier, firmly adhere to the Quality Control standard set by the PSM.
  • Ask for the signed Eyewear Agreement Form before they adjust the frame.
  • Never delay the job, cut the lenses once they placed in "for cutting" section.

Other tasks

  • Replace defective bulb and ballast, assist in minor maintenance repair.
  • Report to their immediate supervisor in case of defective machine.
  • Daily assessment of laboratory machines prior use to avoid damages.
  • Does a weekly inventory of tools and machines, report to his immediate superior for any significant findings.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness of the work station.
  • Other related tasks designated by the immediate supervisor.

Who you are:

  • At least 2 -3 years experience as optical technician/optician, either locally or internationally.

  • Has good communication skills (oral and written)

  • Has excellent technical skills

  • Can grove, edge, and drill lenses

  • Ability to operate auto and manual edger
  • Can get spectacle's accurate parameters using a lensometer
  • Able to adjust any kind of frames
  • Ability to cut all kinds of lenses, Single Vision, Bifocal, and Progressive Lenses

  • Knowledge in trouble shooting of the machine

  • Excellent in operating the computer and its applications such as Excel and Power Point

-Can work under minimal supervision and can relate with all levels of the organization
