Packaging Materials Purchaser

Job Description:

Drugmakers Laboratories, Inc. is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented PM Purchaser to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing the procurement of packaging materials critical to our pharmaceutical production processes. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of purchasing practices, supplier negotiations, and inventory coordination, preferably within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing setting.

As a Packaging Materials Purchaser, you will play a key role in ensuring that all packaging materials are sourced from reliable vendors at competitive prices, delivered on time, and compliant with quality and regulatory standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring stock levels, and collaborating with internal departments to support uninterrupted production and operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related field

– Must hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related discipline that provides a strong foundation in business processes, procurement strategies, and supply chain operations relevant to a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.

• Preferably with experience in purchasing packaging materials, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry

– Candidates with hands-on experience in sourcing and purchasing packaging materials, especially within the pharmaceutical industry, are highly preferred as they bring valuable knowledge of supplier requirements, compliance standards, and cost-efficiency practices.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with inventory or ERP systems is an advantage

– Should be computer literate and proficient in MS Word for documentation, Excel for data analysis and reporting, and Outlook for professional communication. Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP platforms is a strong advantage for handling procurement workflows.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills

– Must possess the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners, and analyze data to make sound procurement decisions that balance cost, quality, and timely delivery.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities

– Should demonstrate excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation, monitoring of purchase orders, and timely handling of multiple procurement activities simultaneously.

• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

– Expected to take initiative, manage tasks with minimal supervision, and contribute actively to team efforts, demonstrating reliability and accountability in all procurement-related activities.

• Strong understanding of procurement policies, supplier management, and cost control

– Must have a solid grasp of procurement policies and best practices, including vendor evaluation, supplier relationship management, and implementation of cost-control measures to support organizational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers of packaging materials based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure optimal procurement value
• Create, process, and track purchase orders; coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure all materials meet specifications and inventory levels are properly maintained
• Maintain accurate documentation of procurement activities, including supplier records, contracts, purchase histories, and cost analyses
• Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and recommend changes or improvements when necessary
• Ensure that all purchasing activities are aligned with company standards, GMP regulations, and industry best practices
• Assist in cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, and procurement strategy development
