Reports To: Purchasing Assistant and/or Procurement Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, tools, and services essential to the construction operations of Q-R Building Solutions Corporation. This role ensures timely delivery of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining cost-efficiency, proper documentation, and good supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify reliable suppliers and source materials based on project requirements.
  • Obtain quotations and compare prices, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers to secure the most favorable pricing and delivery terms.

2. Purchase Order & Documentation

  • Prepare accurate purchase orders (POs) based on approved Purchase Requests.
  • Ensure POs align with project timelines, specifications, and budget.
  • Maintain organized records of POs, supplier quotations, delivery receipts, and invoices.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, and Warehouse for material needs.
  • Monitor deliveries and resolve delays or issues with suppliers.
  • Communicate with Accounting and Warehouse teams for proper documentation and inventory matching.

4. Vendor Management

  • Evaluate vendor performance (price, quality, reliability).
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Look for new vendors or alternatives for better cost efficiency.

5. Reporting & Analysis

  • Submit weekly and monthly procurement status reports.
  • Provide cost comparisons and purchasing data to support budgeting and project costing.
  • Assist in maintaining an updated price database for commonly used construction materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related course.
  • At least 1 year of experience in procurement or purchasing (preferably in the construction industry).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and knowledgeable in documentation protocols.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and logistics is a strong advantage.
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Work Setup:

  • Office-based with regular field coordination for site visits and supplier meetings.
  • May require overtime to meet urgent procurement needs or project deadlines.
