Position Overview

The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the overall financial strategy, health, and sustainability of the company. This role oversees financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cost control, treasury, compliance, and financial risk management. Given the company's operations in furniture manufacturing, retail showrooms, and domestic/international sourcing, the Head of Finance ensures strong financial controls, efficient manufacturing cost structures, and sound decision-making across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy aligned with long-term business goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead the Finance & Accounting team, including coaching, performance management, and capability building.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

  • Oversee annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for manufacturing, retail, and corporate units.
  • Conduct scenario planning, cost-benefit analyses, and financial modeling to guide operational and strategic decisions.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial and management reporting.

3. Manufacturing Cost Control & Efficiency

  • Manage and monitor production costs, BOM (Bill of Materials), labor, overhead, and yield performance.
  • Ensure accurate costing of products and identify opportunities for cost optimization in the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, and Supply Chain to manage margins and improve profitability.

4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Oversee cash flow planning, working capital management, and liquidity requirements.
  • Monitor collections, credit terms, inventory financing, and capital expenditure plans.
  • Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.

5. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, government reporting requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Oversee internal controls, audit preparation, and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.

6. Systems & Process Optimization

  • Oversee accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Champion continuous improvement in financial processes, automation, and systems integration.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales & Retail to analyze pricing strategies, store profitability, and promotional impacts.
  • Work with Supply Chain to evaluate import costs, supplier payment terms, and inventory dynamics.
  • Support Export teams (if applicable) in forecasting, FX exposure, and international compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or supply chain finance highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Solid understanding of tax compliance, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, Odoo) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
